DP-ing a two-day shoot for my good friends at Remedial Media for Living Proof haircare. We light with Pete Moses’ new Digital Sputnik units, and a new world of luminance opens up.
On a shoot in Miami for a show whose details I am forbidden to reveal, shooting an emotional interview. I can say no more.
Draft 1 complete on the cinema-musical, Unpinnable Butterflies, concomitant with 9 completed demos. Hoping to be rolling cameras in 2018.
I’m surrounded by sybaritic set-pieces, consulting as an additional DP and camera op on VH1’s Love and Hip Hop.
The Huffington Post, beneficently, is premiering ‘Pushing Up,’ the video I directed for Mr. Flannery and His Feelings, about the apotheosis of everyday life. Watch it, and read the kind write-up, here.

After an assiduous but rewarding post process, I’ve finished a music video for Mr. Flannery and His Feelings. Record release pending – stay tuned.
I’m DP-ing a short piece for the English sensation James Arthur for MTV’s VMAs. We shoot his interview in a brick alleyway in East New York, and I campus a small rooftop to achieve the overhead shot featured at 0:17.
More soon, but suffice it to say, our ‘grand opus’ of eight-years’ toil (two in pre- and production, six in post) at last comes to a close. Poems, and films, are never finished, only abandoned, and the moment of completion is not binary, nor even linear, but I am calling August 2nd, 2017, the day we finished OMPHALOS. Can’t wait to share this movie with the world.
Back in LA and Ojai, shooting a new EPK for Chris Murphy’s Teahouse Music Company. Good people, all—good, honest music.
