Smells like lavender on Baltic Street. Off to rehearse with trio in Bushwick after twenty hour editing Swiss watches. Weird life.
Writing a music video treatment for The Lumineers on the train ride to Milan.
I am circling downtown Zurich in the rain, slightly drunk, looking for chocolate. In other words, directing/shooting another series for IWC Schaffhausen in Switzerland.
5:47am editing of OMPHALOS, racing towards completion of cut 3.
Thrilled to be asked to shoot Bob Dylan for Danny Clinch at the Capital Theater in Portchester. However, when we arrive, Mr. Dylan doesn’t want to be photographed, so Danny turns to me: ‘Wanna see a Dylan concert?’ We listen from backstage, and then grab enviable seats.
Last day of shooting in Beijing for IWC. We spend the afternoon at The Forbidden City.
Shooting tattoo bar off South Luogo Lane, Beijing. Hunter S. Thompson-esque lair, blaring Nora Jones. Lady cleans cats with cotton swabs.
Doing some OMPHALOS motion tracking work of my own.
I shoot variously this month: MTV concerts and EPKs (for the good kids who are Perfume Genius) and for A&E’s crime doc drama Gangster with my buddy Mark Monroe.
Shooting with my old friend and collaborator Scott Healy for an upcoming EPK. We scour New Jersey and mine old Duke Ellington musical history.
