In Paris, shooting for OMPHALOS.
Visiting the set (and shooting a bit, in preparation to edit) of the very talented photographer/director Danny Clinch; a Spoon video.
Elvis Costello’s Spectacle, season two, premieres on the Sundance Channel and features my backstage interviews with Bruce Springsteen et al.
Major photography commences on the DIY film with the brilliant and terrifying Greg Bennick – producer, writer, actor, fellow 7-ball-juggler – in the lead. We shoot in a spray room in Westchester county, inhale enough toxins for a life time, and capture some powerful images.
First day of shooting as a regular shooter on the Food Network’s Chopped.
Other shoots this month, with the NFL Player’s Association, take me to Nashville (shooting a professional wrestling tournament) and Chicago.
I begin my DIY feature film, working title OMPHALOS! George Nicholas, dear friend and gifted DP, photographs. We hit four locations in a day, beginning by destroying a VHS tape (our supercilious disdain for video proudly illustrated) in the Atlantic ocean, and shooting it in 35mm. There is also, as is to be expected, some raw meat.
Attend to the last REMEMBRANCE tweaks and kiss the script off for my first Hollywood ‘going out.’ Represented by the stellar management at Circle of Confusion. Looking for a buyer at a number of companies. More to come.
Disparate shoots this month include work for CBS College Sports, a commercial for Madison Square Garden’s Groove Trucks, and a PSA at CBS for the Bone Marrow Foundation, with Evan Handler.
On a great gig through the Sundance Channel shooting backstage interviews (with the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Sheryl Crow, Lyle Lovett, Levon Helm, John Prine) for Elvis Costello’s Spectacle.
Shoot Lee Ranaldo of Sonic Youth for last day of Microsoft job.
