Shooting a live performance (dancers/actors in naked suits on the L train, as you do) for the agitprop and profound avant-garde artist Lenore Malen at the BogArt in Williamsburg.

OMPHALOS sound design is complete, and turned over to the multifariously talented Mike Flannery for mix and embellishment. On Monday, January 9th, the conform begins, last step in a long journey.

Velocity is mine, hitting the ground running after a vigorous commute (MNL>YVR>JFK=24hrs), stealing 3-hrs of sleep, meeting a van at 6:15am for a journey to an undisclosed, 60-acre compound with an Oscar-winning (also undisclosed) composing luminary—another secret shoot for Yamaha. All to say, I feed his turtles (they are numerous), and split a tuna sandwich with the famous and generous man, after he plays us an astonishing medley of his world-renowned songs.

Major writing work completed over the holidays, from tranquil climes and lovely digs in the Philippines, on the new cinema-musical script, a first draft imminent.

After a last-work-week-of-the-year push, sound design nearly complete for OM. January 2017 launches final sound mix. The film is precipitously close to total completion.

OMPHALOS score is finally mixed and mastered with the kind and gifted Mike Flannery at the helm. Grateful for rich week of creative collaboration, and to finally put this commodious opus to bed.

Shooting for the illustrious Alex Coletti and Co., DP-ing the ENG portion of a Christmas special for Tony Hale, with special guests Lisa Loeb and Judah Friedlander. A risible send-off to the ‘worst year ever in human history’ (2016).

Like Zeno’s Paradox, approaching an ending with OM proves elusive, but make no mistake: progress is being made. Crossing the finish line glacially, but crossing it, I check Act 2 pII of the sound design off the list.
